“Hibiscus, humming birds and a flamingo blushing amongst water lilies in a lush Kathmandu garden”

The brand, LEILA HAFZI, came to Stavanger, Norway in 1997. On the scene of high-end fashion, a new voice was born and the ethical- and eco-conscious trade found a future leading lady. In a sensual, elegant manner, cultures have been explored and environmental issues highlighted.

leila_hafzi_ss10_dark-bleu1Unfading joy of creation has made this mutiple award-winning brand into the red carpet frequenteur it has become. The trans-cultural collaboration that is the LEILA HAFZI-team makes the impossible possible in the hazy and sometimes chaotic production site of Kathmandu.

In Nektar Spring Summer 2010, a collection seemingly seething life, colours drawn directly from handpicked flowers have been allowed to play on luxious fabrics. Combined through grading, pleats and hand paintings, they create contrasts in perfect harmony. Bringing with her the best parts of her previous collections, Leila Hafzi takes her designs one step further all the while focusing on how each jumpsuit, mini-dress, tunic or long gown will best caress the female curves.

 Ethical- and Eco-Conscious Production

The design and production company, Nepal Productions AS, was established in 2005. The company is a proud member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, Norway (IEH); a multi stakeholder initiative involving companies, employers, organizations, trade unions and NGOs. IEH’s activities are based on the acknowledgement that companies have responsibility towards human rights and their supply chain.

Leila Hafzi’s work is to establish an environmental friendly production cycle. Through years of firsthand experience on working in a developing country, she can see she has come far. And although there are still lengths to go, Leila Hafzi is very confident that they will get there, overcoming the challenges, one at a time.
