Our Zimbabwe gifts for life appeal works in support of the Zimbabwe Farm Clinic & feeding programme. We have a direct contact in Zimbabwe that are doing some amazing work in currently supporting 120 local children in a feeding and medical programme. Every penny of the money we raise will go towards medical suppliers, food & clothing. We know the money gets to those that need it, we send it directly to our friends in Zimbabwe via www.mukuru.com
With increasing frequency more and more people are arriving at the farm asking for help as what little medical infrastructure did exist in Zimbabwe is now extinct. The farm clinic, currently totally funded by local people, does what it can to assist, but the injuries are getting more serious and the medical attention required more specialised. With the current cholera emergency the situation is dire to say the least. Funds raised will be supporting a feeding programme for 120 local children and providing much needed food and clothing and medical supplies.
The latest reports from Zimbabwe are truly disturbing. The BBC reports that Zimbabwe is ’set for cholera jump’. Unicef says its emergency response will focus on basic services. The UN Children’s Fund in Zimbabwe says it is preparing to deal with a possible 60,000 cholera cases in coming weeks, four times current official estimates.
We urgently need your support.
